*TENNIS FOREHAND* | How To Swing Across The Body On The (TENNIS FOREHAND)

jeffsalzensteintennis.com Most traditional tennis teaching will tell you to swing low to high on the tennis forehand. I am a big believer in swinging low to high on the tennis forehand when the situation calls for it. The problem with swinging low to high on the tennis forehand is when you get pulled out wide. It is going to be more natural for you to swing across your body on the tennis forehand on wider balls. There are times when a player can step in on an out wide ball for the tennis forehand. It is okay in that situation to swing low to high on the tennis forehand. What happens when you do not have time to set your feet and step in on the tennis forehand? This calls for the open stance footwork pattern with the tennis forehand. Some players will find is easy to do the buggy whip on the tennis forehand while others will find it more comfortable to swing across the body on the tennis forehand. Roger Federer is one of the best at swinging across his body on wide balls when it comes to his tennis forehand. The key is to finish with space when you swing across the body. Make sure the swing arm is not up against the body at the end of the tennis forehand. Try catching the racquet away from the body to help create the space needed for this certain tennis forehand. Next time you go out onto the court, try swinging across the body on the tennis forehand when you get pulled out wide. Leave a comment and let me know if you agree with swinging across your body or if you should ...

It is your traditional coaching that is screwing up your slice backhand. Most traditional coaches will teach you to swing and extend out towards your target are your slice backhand. If you watch Federer, Nadal, Djokovic or any top player, you are going to see them swing across their bodies instead of out towards the target on the slice backhand. When hitting the slice backhand, try and get more of the inside of the ball. Getting inside the ball on the slice backhand will help you control the ball and keep it low against your opponent. Next time you try to hit your slice backhand, try and swing across your body and get the inside of the ball. *TENNIS SERVE* | Tennis How To Serve | Javier's Serve Journey

jeffsalzensteintennis.com In our video today, we are going to follow one courageous young man on his journey to creating a better tennis serve. Javier came to me wanting to improve his tennis game and especially his tennis serve. We started with him wondering how hit a tennis serve, to understanding basic concepts to having a powerful tennis serve. Many tennis players struggle with their tennis serves and Javier was no different. The only difference between Javier and most other people is that he went out and found a coach to help him improve his tennis serve. We spent six months off the court in a basement doing shadow swings, holding certain positions throughout the tennis serve and hitting into a net. Our goal was to change over seven years of muscle memory to improve Javier's tennis serve. Over 6 months and around 24 total hours of practice on the tennis serve, Javier has been able to come close to Roger Federer's tennis serve. There are still a few things that Javier can work on to keep taking his tennis serve to the next level, but this video is a testimonial to what the right kind of training can do to a tennis players game.. If you want to change your tennis serve, try holding the trophy position and doing multiple shadow swings to really learn the muscle memory for a dominating tennis serve. I want to personally thank Javier for being such a great student. He is a part of program in Denver, Colorado called Net Results, which helps at risk youths through tennis ...
