*TENNIS SERVE* | Top Women's PRO Changes Her Tennis Serve

jeffsalzensteintennis.com I have had to great opportunity to coach a girl who has reached 48 in the world on the WTA. Her name is Vasilisa Bardina. She played Kim Clijsters in 2007 at the Australian Open. Here is the link to check out the match http When Vasilisa first came to me, I told her the biggest thing to change was her tennis serve. To be very blunt, she got to #48 in the world with a deficient tennis serve. She agreed to work with me on trying to change her tennis serve. It is very surprising that someone who has reached such a high level was so open and willing to change her tennis serve. The other surprising thing that happened is that she changed her tennis serve in three days. Now I know most of you are saying "well she's a pro athlete it is easy for her, I can't do that". For those of you thinking that, I want you to take a look at my last video of a kid who changed his tennis serve as well. Vasilisa spent three practice days changing her tennis serve. There was still hard work that had to be put in. If you examine Vasilisa's old tennis serve, you will see that her elbow drops in the motion of the tennis serve. Comparing Vasilisa to some of the best servers like Roger Federer and Pete Sampras, she noticed their elbows don't drop and did her best to copy what they were doing. We did lots of continuous swing and position iso holds to re-train the muscle memory on her tennis serve. Now when you looks at her tennis serve, you can see the elbow staying higher and ...

*TENNIS FOREHAND*: Do You Really Have To (Bend Your Knees)?

jeffsalzensteintennis.com Watch this tennis tip to see how you can hit your tennis forehand better with more control, power, and confidence. Follow a page out of John McEnroe's book and practice playing more upright when you play tennis especially on groundstrokes like the tennis forehand. Bending the knees is important on some shots but is not necessary for every tennis forehand you hit. I know you might have been taught and even yelled at to bend your knees more on the tennis forehand. Next time you are on the court, check out and see if you are more relaxed with your knees being athletically bent or extremely bent on the tennis forehand? I challenge you while watching professional tennis to see if the pros bend their knees and stay low on every single tennis forehand. Try standing more upright especially on balls you can step into on the tennis forehand. So next time you are about to hit a tennis forehand, try and not to bend your knees so much that you cannot move through the shot. Hope this simple tip helps you on your tennis forehand and let me know how it goes! Former ATP Top 100 ATP Tour player, USTA High Performance Coach and Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Jeff Salzenstein, tells you why it's best to bend your knees less when playing tennis especially on balls where you can step in. You can get more awesome tennis tips and lessons at http Tennis Forehand Tips The forehand groundstroke is usually the foundation of your game and the right tennis forehand tip can ...

*TENNIS SERVE* | Tennis How To Serve | Javier's Serve Journey

jeffsalzensteintennis.com In our video today, we are going to follow one courageous young man on his journey to creating a better tennis serve. Javier came to me wanting to improve his tennis game and especially his tennis serve. We started with him wondering how hit a tennis serve, to understanding basic concepts to having a powerful tennis serve. Many tennis players struggle with their tennis serves and Javier was no different. The only difference between Javier and most other people is that he went out and found a coach to help him improve his tennis serve. We spent six months off the court in a basement doing shadow swings, holding certain positions throughout the tennis serve and hitting into a net. Our goal was to change over seven years of muscle memory to improve Javier's tennis serve. Over 6 months and around 24 total hours of practice on the tennis serve, Javier has been able to come close to Roger Federer's tennis serve. There are still a few things that Javier can work on to keep taking his tennis serve to the next level, but this video is a testimonial to what the right kind of training can do to a tennis players game.. If you want to change your tennis serve, try holding the trophy position and doing multiple shadow swings to really learn the muscle memory for a dominating tennis serve. I want to personally thank Javier for being such a great student. He is a part of program in Denver, Colorado called Net Results, which helps at risk youths through tennis ...
