The tablet-oriented Android 3.0 Honeycomb has been ported to the Nook Color. A lot of functionality is still missing -- 3.0 obviously lacks the necessary drivers for the Nook Color's older hardware -- but the graphics hardware acceleration seems to work! There's a video of it in action after the break.As cool as this sounds, it's not actually all that exciting as far as hacks go. The Nook Color, out of the box, runs a customized version of Android 2.1 -- and it sports the same CPU and GPU as the Droid 2 and Droid X. Having said that, at $250 for a Nook Color, and once the bugs have been ironed out, it will probably be the cheapest way to get your hands on a Honeycomb-powered tablet.
In other news, Google is expected to officially launch Honeycomb this coming Wednesday, February 2.
