*TENNIS FOREHAND* | Handle The Short Balls On The (TENNIS FOREHAND)

jeffsalzensteintennis.com During the approach shot on the tennis forehand many players are taught to set their feet, hit the shot and then keep moving into the net. Does that kind of technique really work for you and your tennis forehand on the short balls? I am going to guess that you miss a lot of short balls and wonder how you can possibly sprint up, slow yourself down, set your feet, hit your shot and then keep sprinting up to the net. I am here to tell you that this technique for the tennis forehand on the short balls flat out just doesn't work. The pros are not doing this on their tennis forehand and neither should you. Take a look at Roger Federer and you will notice him moving through his tennis forehand on short balls. He does a certain footwork pattern that involves him jumping on the tennis forehand. We call this footwork pattern lift and land. You can do this pattern on both the tennis forehand and backhand side. What you want to do is step in, hit the ball and jump up in the air. This will keep you moving forward on the tennis forehand. Moving forward will help you get to the net faster and cover the passing shot. Next time you are hitting your tennis forehand and get a short ball, try the lift and land footwork pattern. The main idea is to move through the short ball on the tennis forehand instead of stopping yourself to hit the shot. Let me know how this footwork patterns helps out your tennis forehand! http

5 Reasons Why *ROGER FEDERER* Will NOT Reach #1 Again

jeffsalzensteintennis.com Roger Federer is currently #3 in the world. I am predicting that Roger Federer will not reach the #1 spot in the world again. Roger Federer had a magnificent decade of tennis. A decade that will most likely never be matched by another player. Roger Federer has made every player on tour improve their levels of tennis to compete with him. We are now seeing the young guys coming up, who have been able to study Roger Federer and learn from his masterful tennis game. These players are taking the best of Roger Federer and improving upon it. This is why Roger Federer hasn't been as dominant in the past few years. Before Roger Federer gave up his #1 ranking to Rafael Nadal, nobody had seen a player move and hit with the grace and power he displays. Roger Federer dominated with his shotmaking, balance, and flexibility, and effortless play that was lightyears ahead of what the rest of the tour players could do. Now players have studied and learned from Roger and have adopted these key elements of his game into theirs. We can see how physical players like Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have developed so that they can now beat Roger Federer. Roger has also started a new life with his wife and baby. He has new responsibilities that have shifted his focus at times from tennis. It has been a wonderful 10 years of watching Roger Federer dominate in the sport of tennis. Federer was a master in his craft of tennis. We thank him for all the years and elevating ...

*ONE HAND BACKHAND* | What Grip To Use On The One Hand Backhand

jeffsalzensteintennis.com On the one hand backhand, a lot of coaches will instruct you to use a continental grip on the one hand backhand. Now this is probably fine for beginners to learn the motion of the one hand backhand. With more intermediate and advanced players looking to get more out of their one hand backhand, try sliding your hand so that it feels like your hand is the grip. Sliding your hand more on top and behind the grip will allow you to hit the one hand backhand with more spin and feel. Now you might ask how will I drive the ball with this kind of grip on the one hand backhand? Don't worry, this grip will still allow you to drive through the ball but will add an added bonus of topspin to your one hand backhand. One quick tip with sliding your hand more on top with the one hand backhand If you do try this, make sure you keep your head at contact, like Roger Federer does, so you can allow you hand and arm to drive through the ball on the one hand backhand. For all you one hand backhand players out there, try sliding your hand more on top and behind ohe grip to get more spin and feel on your one hand backhand. jeffsalzensteintennis.com
